Prof Gary Ford: Developer of the FAST Stroke Campaign

In honour of Prof Gary Ford’s upcoming talk on 13th May, we want to highlight a few of his accomplishments in a series of posts.

Prof Gary Ford helped develop the Face Arm Speech Test (FAST), a test to help recognise when someone is having a stroke. According to the Stroke Association, FAST has been a hugely successful campaign; in its first 4 months, emergency 999 calls for stroke increased by 55% and brought life-saving medical attention to thousands more people in the UK.
